It was an excellent viewing at prize giving. I was exited too watch some of performance which were performed by young kids. I was bracing my self for our year 8 item. I wasn’t really keen to sing as well as Tanielu and Moses. After we had sung the space song I was happy it was over and done with. Then on it was time for the year 8 boys item. I was pretty keen to go I'm best. After a long night I had really enjoyed my self.

Our Solar System

I had come to school in the morning thinking what the teacher had planned for us today. I was hoping that we were going to do something as a class.

It was the 2nd of November when our class room 21 had been doing some expirents about
our magnificent Solar System. First off Mrs Lagitupu had randomly selected a bunch of students to take place in a room 21 task . The main topic that we have been learning about for term 4 was about the solar system we live in. I found it very interesting.

So on the selected students had a balloon which represented a Planet in our Solar System. They had blown up the balloon to a reasonable size. As each student blowed up there balloon they had to stand up in the order of our Solar System. All selected students who were taking place were all lined up holding their balloon in the order from the sun. While they were standing up our teacher had given us a test too see what we know about each planet. Firstly she had said the sun. Many people just said it was hot and yellow. That wasn’t really a fact I said to my self.

Also if you don’t know why we have excisting life on Earth it is because we ain’t close to the sun also we ain’t to far from the sun. Also what else I know is that sientist belive that the sun isn’t the biggest start of all time it is VV Cephai. VV Cephai compared to Earth has a massive diferents I reckon 1,000,000,000 planet Earth will make up the whole of Cephai as its the biggest said to my self.start in the Milky way galaxy,

I really had an awesome time finding out new things about Our amazing Solar System. Also hope we do this again.

Our Solar System

Awesome! I had never known that there would be so many bigger planets and stars than our own planet Earth. I was stunned to see much larger stars then the usual star we see during the day also known as the sun. I was wondering at the time if there was any existing life on any other planets or stars.

It was an amazing fact that the VV Cephai is the largest star of them all. VV Cephais size compared to planet Earths size is really a big difference. Probably 1,000,000 planet Earths will make up the whole of VV Cephai.

Now on I am looking forward to finding out more about our amazing Solar System. one of the facts I know is that the sun ain’t the biggest star of them all. Also what what I have found out is that it takes 8 months to Mars.

It is a battle for the Webb Ellis Cup. It is between 20 other rugby teams around the world. The All Blacks are going too win as they had won all their pool games. Also they are going to win because they are ranked number 1 in the world at rugby. The other team that I am going for is Ireland because they had showed their self that they can beat Australia. So I hope Ireland does well in their up coming games. My Favourite players in the All Blacks are Zack Guilford, Ma’a Nonu , Israel Dagg, and the All Blacks captain Richie Mccaw.

All people wearing red were obviously supporting the Tongan rugby team. That was their way of being great representative for their country. They were wearing red all over such as a red Face paint.Tongan flags and many more. Many Tongan supporters have big passion for the rugby team.

The All Blacks started off their Haka with a look of aggressiveness. The All Blacks were performing the Haka loud and proud. It looked like the All Blacks were threatening the Tongan rugby team while doing the Haka.

Israel Dagg Defended the Tongan player with a Dynamic hand to the face while he was trying to reach the try line.

Silly spots day.

It was last week Friday when Room 19 too room 22 had a silly sports day. Their was four types of events taking place. Their was Mrs Lagitupu who was holding the Ball Tiggy. Their was Miss- Tito who was holding the Slingshot targets. Also their was Mr Harris who was holding the Steady walking event. Last but no least their was Mrs Nua who held the wet sponge and bucket game.

First off we had our wonderful teacher Mrs Lagitupu. We we're playing ball tiggy. But it wasn't the ball tiggy we're you ran everywhere and throw it at your opponent. This Ball Tiggy game was different too the Ball Tiggy that you we're thinking. In this Ball Tiggy you have too have 2 teams. 1 team has too try not get tagged from the ball in the boundry. And the other has to pass the ball too each of thier team mates and tag the other team with the ball with out any throwing.

So the game had started. I was ttreing to avoid getting tagged. I was doing well untill the other team member had tripped me up. I was really annoyed but not for long. It was our turn too tag the other team. The whistle had been blow giving us a signal too start. So on I had got about three people out. Out of 8. That was a really cool game to play.

My favourie Silly sport of that day was Miss Tito with the Slingshots Taget game. The reason I really enjoyed that game was because I found it quite interesting to play. It was my turn up to give it a go. I was thinking that wouldn’t do well but as i let go of the sling shot i just managed to just get it next to the hoop. All i could hear in the background was OHHHHHHHHHHH!. I didn’t know they did that but I did very well.

It was a heap of fun that day and hope too do those events every week.

2011 Cross Country.

On Wednesday the 10th of August the intermediate block of Pt England school competed in a Cross Country event. I wasn’t prepared for Cross Country as I didn’t have any practice. I was very annoyed when we got told there was country before the actual day.

The day had come for the Cross Country event. I was hoping I would do well. The first race was the yr 7 girls. They all lined up hoping they would take the lead. Clap! The girls were off. They all took off like a stampede of bulls. Some tried to keep their paste but some we’re just off like a missile.

As the races past it was the yr 8 boys turn. I had Butterflies as I was approaching the start line. On your marks get set go BANG!! goes the two pieces of wood colliding together to make a big clap. We all jogged off like if there was no such thing as time.

I was half way through the track I decided to keep my pase and not waste my energy. I had past alot of people. As i was running up the muddy stairs accidently face planted into the dirt. Luckly no one was around to see me trip up in a instant.

The finish line was slowly approaching. I couldn’t wait to past the line as i was suffering from a painful stich. “ Finally “ i said to my self I had just finished the race. The placeing i got was 8th.

I had a wonderful race and I am now looking forward to the inter zones.r

Life Caravan

Last week on Thursday our class room 21 had been to the Life Education Caravan. Since we are year 8 and 7’s Lynne our life educator talked about the serious fact of puberty. I thought it was wrong to talk about puberty but Lyn said it was normal.

Lyn talked about illegal and legal drugs. I had thought about what types of legal drugs there are. There were times when Lyn asked us a question. I didn’t really put my hand up for anything. After all the questions and answers Lyn started talking about puberty, She said there was 7 steps on a ladder. I didn’t really get why she was talking about 7 steps on the ladder but I just agreed with what other people said.

That time we went to the Life Education caravan we didn’t get too see Harold. After a while we had a little bit of a stretch. It was 15 minutes until we had to leave the Life Education Caravan. In that period of 15 minutes Lyn had put on a movie called ‘From The Shadows’. The movie was based on a true story.

I have just recently received my report. At first I thought my report was going to be okay. As I was thinking about my results from my report everyone had already opened their report. I didn’t want to spoil my report so it was a good idea that I waited till I got home.

I had just walked through the door ready to give my Mum my report. She opened the report with silence not knowing what she will expect. I had a feeling that it wasn’t going to be good. My Mum didn’t have a happy face. That’s when I knew it wasn’t good.

So now on I know what to improve on, my attitude and behaviour. Next time I hope my report will be much better.

It was always a clear Monday morning. I was hoping that there was no tech. But as I approached the school grounds everyone was getting ready to line up. Then I knew there was Technology. Also the reason I don’t like going to Technology is because our teacher is too
grumpy.

Today in Electronics class my project suddenly broke. I didn’t want to start another project because of the short amount of time. After my project had broken, all I did was help out other people with their projects. Since we all had the same project I Knew what and not should be done.

Now on I am looking forward to our next class science. I have enjoyed my time in the Electronics class and hope to come back next year.

Is Benji Marshall the worlds greatest league player? I think that Benji Marshall is one of the greatest league players but simply not the best. For my likings i reckon that Billy Slater (Billy the kid) is more experienced than the magnificent stepper Benji Marshall. Benji Marshall has been in the NRL for quite sometime now. Even though he has’nt been a great role model this he still has lots of fans. Since he has been living over in Australia a little bit of people were discriminating him. Benji is still popular in the NRL.

Benji Marshall is still a fan favourite but he just made a bad move.

My phone can last with out charging for about five days. I don’t really use my phone that much. What else about cellphones is you can search the web. Charging my phone will probably take a good 2 hours. Even some cellphones can last with out being charged for a long time. Only if you hardly use it.

My phone cost about $150 dollars. A phone isn’t something that I use every day. The more expensive the phone is the better quality it is.

David "Tuamanator" Tua

If I were a Multi billionaire the first thing I would do is to donate $100,000 thousand dollars to Unicef. I would also by myself a mansion with the best security system ever. My security system will have an electric fence also with the strongest dog’s in the world, and an inferno gate way that will lead to my house. I would also like to buy myself a cinema that will be in my movie room. I would have a candy room with all the tastiest treats. I would like to buy the extreme screen from Sylvia Park for $900,000 dollars with all their seats included. I would buy the Mozilla Fire Fox company. I would buy my family a three story house and give them $1 million dollars. Lastly I would really like to buy some land up on a hill facing the sea, so my house will have a good view.

I honestly couldn’t wait for camp as my stomach had butterflies as time was passing. I had just been dropped off to school seeing lots of yr 7 and 8 students with there bags already to go. We all had gathered up in the hall so we can be told where are we going. My group the Carez were told to do Hangi prep. I thought preparing for the Hangi was a great job to do. The Carez had to peel the potatoes and kumara. After a long time of peeling we had been told to get ready for kayaking.

So then the Carez set off down to Pt England beach for kayaking. Mr Burt had set us kids an example of how to place your self in a Kayak. There were also single and double kayaks. I was really looking forward to sharing a double Kayak with one other person. So went off in a kayak trying to pace my self. I imagined I was in a real race passing the finish line coming first. I had very sore arms. It felt like there was something was wrong with my arms. I was getting tired and decided to have a rest on the grass.

We had just finished our practise for the special concert on that night. I was really scared wondering if I will screw up in front of my family and friends. So then minutes went to seconds until the clock was ready to strike 6:30pm. I had a funny feeling in my stomach. “Give it up for the Carez!” said Mrs Lagitupu. Now is the time to shine. Cruz started off our item by saying “are you ready?”, we replied “yes we are”. We marched onto the stage with excitement. After saying our chant 3 kids from our group went off the stage to grab some teachers to do some jump jam. I didn’t know what was going on at the time. I had know idea that we were going to do jump jam.

It was the last day of Camp TC. I wished camp had gone on for a little bit longer. Our main activity for the day was Swimarama. It was lucky that we were going out to the pools because it was a very hot day. I really enjoyed camping on the school grounds. And hope that the yr 8 camp will be even better.

What I am looking forward to this year.

The thing that I am looking forward to this year is camp which is coming up in a few weeks time. Also what I am looking forward to this year is all the sports events. I am really happy that we now have our net books that we can use instead of books. I am really enjoying our new building and classroom.

My goal for the year is to become a better writer because I need to improve my writing. I can do this by trying my best in class and learning how to use better words in my writing. I also want to join the school rugby team this year.

On Monday the Year 7's and 8's walked down to Tamaki college for technology. We arrived at Tamaki college in a matter of time. Since I was in graphics with Mrs Ferguson I had a feeling things were going to be rough since she was a teacher that growls a lot. But she is really good at what she does and she is a great teacher. She told us about the three tones for shading that were light, medium and hard. We all crowded around Mrs Ferguson for an example of what she meant.

There were also some other classes that people were in from our school such as Wood work, Science, Electronics, and Food tech. I am looking forward to doing electronics this year.

Bull dog ant

The Bull dog ants of Australia are the strongest ants in the world. There sting is powerful to produce an Anaphylactic shock . If someone left untreated it may be lethal. These ants eat smaller insects. They also eat sticky things form leaves. Mainly the adult ants eat nectar and honey dew. These ants can grow up to 40mm. There stinger is located in there abdomen. They’re very aggressive with there stinger

The worker ants dig holes do the house work and also take out the rubbish. Queen ants lay all the eggs. Male ants mates with the queen. Even though these ants are very busy they spend sometime cleaning there antennae and legs. The bull dog ant is very engaged with fighting if an unwanted visitor such as a spider a bee and other types of ants.

Suf life saving education

Last week the yr 7’s of Pt England school went to Mairangi bay for the surf life saving education. I was wondering if the view of Mairangi bay was going to be wonderful or not. As soon as we arrived at Mairangi bay the view seemed alright too me. So we went up into the safe house and was instructed on the things that will keep us safe when we are around the water. It was time for a swim i couldn't wait to have a nice refreshing swim. I was swallowing water like it was my favourite. We were boogie boarding like people surfing in Hawaii, Even though the weather was horrible.

We had an amazing brilliant time at Mairangi bay learning new things like saving lives and how to be safe in the water.

How to survive in a life raft

Surviving in a life craft

If you are in a life raft here are somethings you should remember:

Never drink sea water and urine it will only make you even thirsty.
Practice swimming to the craft.
Always have sea sick pills.
Where a life jacket.
Hug on or snuggle up to someone to keep warm.
Keep your floor dry in the craft to avoid getting saws.
Have lots of gear so you wouldn’t die of exposure.
Practice inflating the life craft blind folded.
Don’t say you are going to die or you will.
Don’t eat or drink for 24 hours because you can survive
Learn to swim.
Only little bits of food.
Grab lots of water containers.
If the craft capsizes you need a the strongest person to get in first and pull the rest in.
If water gets in quickly get the water out.

Parakai Pools

On a hot sunny day I was so relieved that my family and I were going to parakai springs. We set off on our two hour journey.

As soon as we reached our destination i was pleased to see plenty of people having fun. I had just put down our bags when suddenly I heard my name. I turned around and there was Judah, a boy from our school, so I said, "Hi" and carried on with what I was doing.

“Finally I can go for a swim," I said. As soon as I hit the water I felt refreshed like I had been drinking lots of cola. After a long time in the pool I decided to go to the hydro slide. "3 2 1 GO!". I slid off like a car spinning out of control. My speed that I was going at was terrific. “Here’s the end I said”. I had been spat out from the hydra slide crashing into the pool.

So, our trip to Parakai Pools involved lots of fun and plenty of laughter.

Scorpion can use rise of hell and blood of spear to shang tsug and lu kang and also kong lao but i,m going to tell the story of mortal kombat.In the tournament all the warriors were having a massive fight against each other when the tournament came shang tsug wanted to rule Earth round and also out world so he wanted to become the supreme champion but he,d never came the supreme warrior.Then shau kaun became the supreme warrior came along riaden was to protect the warrior, s to defeat shang tsug.

On mothers my sister and I were cooking our lovely Mum some breakfast. We cooked her some spaghetti and toast and potatoes and my little sister made a milo.Then we stuck the breakfast on the tray and a present to.We took the tray into Mum and sang her a song. The song we sang sounded beautiful and it sounded like the bestest song ever.

My Holiday

In my holiday my sister and and my Nana and my cousin and I went shopping in Brisbane city. We went to Wet 'n, Wild to go on the rides and go for swims too. Sometimes we went to the pools to learn to swim but this day in Australia afternoon it was 35 degrees and that why we went to the pools because it was so hot, everyday. Usually it was hot in the morning but some times it cold in the morning .
